A Day for Dad

Since Matt is traveling this weekend, we celebrated earlier with new clothes (no ties!), dinner at Outback and a movie rental. Matt has settled into fatherhood nicely and Avery's face lights up each time he returns home. She absolutely adores her Daddy!

Also - a big hug to both our Dads! We are better people because of your love, guidance, discipline and all around fabulousity!

Eight is GR8

Avery's 8 months old already! She weighs a whopping 14 lbs and is 26 in long. Our lovebug!

Aspen Update

Got a note from Aspen's new family the other day. She is doing great and even went to Mexico for vacation! Here she is with her "brothers" in the surf!

Memorial Weekend in the Mountains

Each summer from age 7 to 17 my family spent a week up in the mountains at Forest Home Christian Family Camp. This past weekend we did a mini-camp long weekend - my first time back in 10 years. That place still opens my heart to God and I hope to make it a tradition with the next generation.

First Mother's Day

Matt is out of town working and I've been more sick in the last 3 days than in the last 3 years... so it hasn't exactly been the First Mother's Day of storybooks. But here's the highlights:

* I showered for the first time in 2 1/2 days.
* The beautiful card and day spa gift certificate Matt left. Sweet!

*A nap with Avery in the sun at the park.

* Text messages from friends and family with warm wishes.
* Tonight I intend to pair a chick flick with Hazelnut gelato!
* And this picture from Matt totally cracked me up!

A special shout out to my Mom who is spending her day sailing the Virgin Islands! Cheers to all you fabulous Mothers out there... you deserve this day of recognition!
